Welcome to Austin!

Here are our some of our favorite places to eat and things to do:

To receive the wedding block room rate, book through this link. If you have any questions, call 512-404-3600, and they will be able to assist you!

Addtional Options:

  • Doubletree Suites - Downtown location

  • The Hilton - Downtown location

  • Westin - Downtown location

  • South Congress Hotel - Boutique experience, convenient to the reception venue

  • San Jose Hotel - Boutique experience, convenient to the reception venue

Breakfast

The Launderette- Our favorite brunch place! We dined here the morning that Grant proposed! Be sure to enjoy a unique dessert after your meal.

Texas French Bread- Elizabeth used to live right down the street and walk here all the time. Still a favorite friendly and delicious spot for traditional breakfast and lunch.

Foodheads- Elizabeth also lived down the street from this quaint spot! We recommed the breakfast tacos, egg sandwhiches or scrambles! Perfect place to sit at a picnic table and play a game of backgammon (we are cool... I know).

Torchy's Tacos - For a taste of the Texas obsession with breakfast tacos, head here. This chain started in Austin, TX and has made its way all across the state. We think it is best enjoyed in Austin though!

Walton's Fancy and Staple - Owned by Sandra Bullock herself, this spot on East 6th has every staple breakfast item you can dream of.

Lunch

Tiny Boxwoods Austin -  Elizabeth works right next door at Thompson + Hanson! Be sure to get a famous Tiny's chocolate chip cookie!

Pinthouse Pizza - For good brews and the best pizza in town (at least in our opinion) head here. There are locations North and South of downtown.

Épicerie - A favorite place for burgers, beignets and more!

P. Terry's Burger Stand - The local favorite fast food restaurant! 50's dinning as it should be. Locations are scattered all around Austin.

Lucy's Fried Chicken on the Lake- For a view and good fried chicken... drive 30 min out of town to this joint.

Elizabeth Street Cafe - A wonderful Vietnamese restaurant with charming design. Elizabeth recomends everything.

Dinner

SWAY- A fancy pantsy thai place with unique bites. If you go, you must get the 'son in law'!

La Condesa - Yummy Mexican in the heart of downtown. We definitely recommend trying their 'Margarita La Condesa'!

Loro- Loro is a hip Asian smokehouse and bar on South Lamar. So delicious and interesting!

Texas French Bread- Also a great spot for dinner. Unlike their breakfast, this is a sit down service with classic french dishes.

Dessert

Gordoughs - So decadent I hesitate to call it a donut place! There are many locations around town including one downtown close to hotel accomodations.

Halcyon Coffee Bar - Cozy downtown coffee bar whose signature dessert is a person s'mores station!

Amy's Ice Cream- A classic and favorite.

The Tasty Spoon - Yummy gelato in a cute cottage home. There are yard games in the backyard.

Gelateria Gemelli - Gelato, coffee and cocktails... oh my!

Drinks

Rainy Street - Take a short uber from downtown and you'll find yourself on a street of charming bungalow bars!

Around Town

Visit Thompson + Hanson Garden House and see where Elizabeth spends a lot of her time!

See a movie at the Violet Crown (hip theater with delicious cocktails) or Paramont Theater (historic theater still playing film) or Alamo Drafthouse (an austin staple).

Walk Town Lake! We do this almost everytime we get to spend a weekend in Austin. We recomend parking along the street here or at Austin High School.

Visit Zilker and "Dog watch".

Explore the Blanton Museum where Grant proposed!

Go bowling at Punchbowl Social.

Peruse the shops and grab a bite to eat around South Congress.
